Fall Event Schedule
This fall Ethan will give a presentation at the Hillsboro Main library on 10/23 at 7:00pm during the children's StoryTime.
Next, he will give a presentation in Findley Elementary school in late November for 4th and 5th-grade students and their teachers.
General Information
Northwest Youth Eye Care can present to a variety of ages of children - usually ages 3 to 14. Presentations normally range from 20 to 40 minutes, depending on ages and interest. Events are held in local library meeting rooms, in school classrooms, and community meeting rooms.
Event Contents
These events aim to provide parents and children in the Portland West-Side area with information about:
- What are the 5 main parts of the eye that help me see?
. What is Near-Sightedness and how does it start?
- What habits can help prevent and control Near-sightedness?
- What are the treatments available to slow the progression of near-sightedness?
- What are the dangers of high-myopia in the future?
Types of Presentations:
Short Presentation/Event*: Ages 3-5 (+Parents), 20 min.
Standard Presentation/Event*: Ages 8-11, 30 min.
Extended Presentation/Event*: Ages 10-14, 40 min.
*All events have large monitor, eye models, several speakers
